Hurdle Training

Rhythm is off. Lead leg is late. Trail leg is breaking down. Every rep is reinforcing bad habits. This is where that gets fixed.

Hurdling is not sprinting with obstacles. It's a separate technical skill with its own rhythm, its own posture, and its own failure points. Most young hurdlers have never had any of it broken down for them. They run the race, hit the barriers, and nobody tells them why. Here, every phase gets coached — the approach, the lead leg, the trail leg, the 3-step rhythm, and how to hold it all together when the race hurts.

What Gets Coached

01

3-Step Rhythm

The foundation of every hurdle race. Stride pattern, ground contact timing, hip mechanics — coached until your athlete can hold rhythm from hurdle 1 to hurdle 10.

02

Lead Leg

Attack angle, knee drive, foot clearance, snap-down. We drill it until it fires automatically under race fatigue.

03

Trail Leg

This is where most hurdlers lose the race. Hip rotation, knee pull, wall clearance. We coach out the pause that kills momentum.

04

Race Strategy

Hurdle races are won with a plan. We build race models from your athlete's speed and stride data, then train them to execute under pressure.

05

All Hurdle Events

100m, 110m, 300m, 400m. Different events, different demands. We coach the specific mechanics for whichever event your athlete runs.

06

Approach & Start

The approach to hurdle 1 sets the entire race. Block settings, step patterns, acceleration curves — tailored to your athlete's stride length.

Proof

The Work Shows Up.

We don't coach athletes to chase PRs. We coach them to raise their average performance. Every athlete below did. The PRs followed.

8.14 seconds.

Combined drop in season averages across these 7 events. Every athlete improved. Every event got faster.

Common Questions

Can my athlete compete in indoor and summer meets?+
Yes, and most of our hurdlers do. Athletes enter USATF and AAU meets unattached -- no club affiliation and no team singlet required. We help choose the meets worth the trip, pick the events, and structure the training block around the dates so the athlete is sharp when it matters.
What age should an athlete start hurdling?+
As early as age 10 with appropriate heights and spacing. There is no such thing as too young to learn rhythm and coordination over barriers.
Does my athlete need to be fast to hurdle?+
Speed helps, but hurdling is a technical event. Plenty of athletes who are not the fastest kid on the team become excellent hurdlers because they master the mechanics. We coach both speed and technique in parallel.
Which hurdle events do you coach?+
All of them. 100m, 110m, 300m, 400m. Each event has different technical demands and we coach the specific mechanics for whichever one your athlete competes in.
Can my athlete train hurdles and speed development together?+
Yes, and many of our athletes do. Hurdle training improves sprint mechanics. Sprint training makes hurdlers faster between barriers. The two programs complement each other.

Enrollment Is Capped.

When the season fills, it fills. That's how every athlete gets coached directly.
